Result WithheldØ The NBE conducted the Screening Test (Foreign Medical Graduate Examinations) on 28th September, 2008.Ø Result in respect of the eligible candidates was declared on 28th September, 2008, result in respect of provisional eligible candidates has been withheld.Ø The candidates whose result is withheld broadly fall in the following categories :-(i) Non-submission of eligibility Certificates : It has already been clarified by National Board of Examinations that in accordance with Screening Test Regulations and Eligibility Certificate Regulations, Eligibility Certificate is required to be furnished only by those candidates who have taken admission in foreign medical institutions only after 15th March, 2002. These candidates were advised to submit their eligibility certificate by 10th October, 2008,it has been decided that the candidature of such candidates will remain status quo i.e. withheld and their result will be declared only after a final decision in this regard is taken by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/Medical Council of India.(ii) Non-submission of Degree (Duly verified) : These candidates were also advised by the National Board of Examinations to submit verified copy of degree by 10th October, 2008, it has been decided that the candidature of such candidates will remain status quo and their result will be declared only after a final decision in this regard is taken by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/Medical Council of India.(iii) Other deficiencies : It was advised to candidates vide individual letters, website & notice board to rectify their deficiencies. These candidates are hereby informed to kindly complete the deficiencies in their application form latest by 27th October, 2008. CHENNAI: Seven MBBS seats vacant in government medical colleges, allotted under the all-India quota, will be filled by the Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, on September 29.
One BC seat each is available in the Thanjavur Medical College and the Coimbatore Medical College, two BC seats in the Theni Medical College, one MBC seat each in the Coimbatore Medical College and the Dharmapuri Medical College and one SC seat in the Government KAP Viswanathan Medical College, Tiruchi. Counselling will begin at 9 a.m.
The same day, counselling will also be held to fill MBBS seats in Sree Moogambigai Medical College and BDS seats in the Government Dental College.
Three BC seats, one MBC seat and four SC seats are available in Sree Mookambigai College under the government quota. In the Government Dental College, 10 seats are available for BCs, of which two will go to BC (Christians), nine seats for MBCs and eight seats for SCs, says a release.
Students who are selected must be ready to report at college by 3 p.m. on September 30.
